2024 Hardware Trends
When renovating or constructing new spaces, the design elements often come together once the layout, flooring, wall colours, and furniture are envisioned. In our experience, interior designers understand that details make or break the overall look, especially when it comes to hardware. If you want your project to be admired for years to come, it's crucial to invest as much attention in these details as you do in the wall colours.
Matte Black Handles
Undoubtedly, the most sought-after handles today are matte black. Whether round or square rosettes, black is popular because it complements other metallic tones in the home. This allows you to use the same lever throughout the house without needing to match every sink faucet or various cabinets and vanities in different rooms to the same tone.
Polished Chrome Handles
Many of you might be surprised to see this trend making a comeback. After the 90s and early 2000s, when every piece of hardware in homes was polished chrome, we're excited to show you how it can be better than we’ve seen before. In the past, poorly designed polished chrome often got scratched and covered with watermarks.
For polished chrome door handles, you’ll find that the most frequently touched and used parts of the handle are patterned to avoid fingerprints and ring scratches, while providing a clean surface for your door hardware, keeping the design tone bright.
Brushed Gold Levers and Knobs
Although this trend has been around for a while, we still suspect it will continue through 2025. Brushed gold offers an excellent solution for homes with warm tones in hardwood floors, lots of light linens in furniture, and, in some cases, for those who want hardware to stand out against black doors and trim. It also provides a warm, low-contrast tone against white doors.
Traditional Door Hardware
If you find these too modern for your home's era or the other decorative elements you're using, don't worry. We offer classic traditional round knobs, which can serve as a feature in any room but look particularly good on French double swing doors in wardrobes or entrances.
If your home construction or renovation is nearing completion and your interior designer is calling with questions about difficult hardware decisions, we can help!
