Choosing cabinet & drawer pulls

Choosing cabinet & drawer pulls

A pull is the piece you touch every day. Choose a profile that suits the joinery, then match the fixing centres and finish to the rest of the room.

Choose by style

Drawers: Vintage Arch pulls mount horizontally — never vertically — and some customers fit two on a wide drawer. Simply Edge gives a long, flat, contemporary line, often in bathrooms. Cupboard doors: the Lip Brass Pull, with its small outward edge.

Will it fit? Measure your fixing centres

Fixing centres is the distance between mounting holes, centre to centre. Cabinet handles use 96, 128 and 160mm; pulls often don't — Half Moon is 64mm, Vintage Arch 76 or 96mm. Simply Edge keeps the standard sizes. Check the product page before drilling.

Finish & material

Most pulls are solid brass. Antique Brass, Brushed Nickel and Gunmetal are electroplated. Brushed Copper is plated, then PVD-coated — the finishing technology used on premium tapware. Brushed Brass has two layers of clear lacquer to help preserve its look. See Care guide.

Where they work

Kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, wardrobes, sideboards and custom joinery. Use the same finish across pulls, knobs and handles for a consistent look.

Frequently asked questions

How do I measure fixing centres?

Measure from the centre of one mounting hole to the centre of the next. That distance is the fixing centres — match it to the pull size so it lines up with your existing holes.

What size pull should I choose?

Match the pull length to the drawer or door width. As a guide, smaller drawers take a shorter pull; wide drawers often look better with a longer pull or two pulls. Check fixing centres on the product page before you order.

Are these solid brass, and will the finish wear?

Four of our five pulls are solid brass; the Florencia Cup Pull is zinc alloy. Brushed Brass carries two layers of clear lacquer, and our plated finishes hold their colour well in normal indoor use. Wipe with a soft cloth.

Can I use these on doors as well as drawers?

Yes, depending on the style. Half Moon works on drawers and doors. Lip Brass Pulls are for cupboard doors, fitted vertically. Vintage Arch and Simply Edge Pulls are designed for drawers — fit the arch horizontally, use two across a wide drawer.

Do they come with fixing screws?

Yes. Florencia, Half Moon, Lip and Vintage Arch each include two 25mm screws, which suit fronts 18mm thick; email info@luxhandles.com.au after purchase for 40mm screws. Simply Edge Pulls come with two countersunk wood screws for flush mounting.
